What I offer

If a recipe can convey a feeling, then I hope my recipes fill your kitchen with warmth.  Over the past few years I spent more and more time in my home kitchen and this experience has reminded me of the frustrations the home cook can feel. Time poor, exhausted, no access to great ingredients and uninspired.  At times, I have felt all of those things.  However, a great recipe can turn all of that around and fill you with purpose instead of  aimlessness, with joy instead of frustration and it can make you the hero of your home. I just want to be your guide.

My recipes reflect what I feel about food: Delicious flavour and freshness are my top priority, foods are their most delicious when cooked in season, what you cook and eat should make you feel good mentally and physically and most importantly, cooking at home should make you feel at ease, not anxiety ridden.

Imagine being able to effortlessly make stunning tomato galette with a burnished flaky pastry crust. Or a simple roast chicken dinner which will leave your family begging for you to make it again. Or a multilayer birthday cake which will leave all your friends wondering how you did that.  These are the things that priceless memories are made of.

My recipe promises:

  1. They will always be delicious.

  2. I will always gives tips and alternatives to seasonal ingredients for those of you that live in the other hemisphere.

  3. They will always be well tested so you can trust they will work for you.

  4. I will always simplify recipes to their absolute minimum steps (and minimal mess) for the maximum amount of flavour.

  5. I don’t follow food trends, instead I lean towards the classics.

  6. Olive oil is healthy in my book so I don’t hold back.

  7. I’m an omnivore but I LOVE vegetables most so you can always expect a heavy dose.

  8. I really care about where my food comes from but I’m also a realist, so do what you can, when you can. If you’re cooking for yourself, you’re doing great.

  9. If you have any questions or feedback, I want to hear from you. Get in touch.

You can find my recipes on this website, through my newsletter and through my two cookbooks. You can purchase “Always Add Lemon” and pre-order my new cookbook “Recipes for a Lifetime of Beautiful Cooking” through any major book retailer.
